About the Author

Who makes Janma Panchang, how its panchang is calculated and how to send corrections.

Janma is an independent project: a free Hindu panchang that does its astronomy in your own browser instead of copying tables from other sites. Every date, sunrise and tithi time on these pages is calculated from published astronomical formulas for the city you choose.
The project grew out of a simple wish: a panchang that is quick to read on a phone, explains how each value is worked out, and is honest about where calendars legitimately differ. Texts, icons and charts are written and drawn for Janma; pictures come from public-domain or CC0 sources and are listed on the Image Credits page.
Corrections are welcome. The Contact page explains what makes a report easy to check, and the FAQ covers why two calendars can show different dates.
